Serena Smith trained as a collaborative lithographer with Stanley Jones at the Curwen Studio, where she produced lithographs for many notable artists including Basil Beattie, Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Richard Deacon, Prunella Clough, John Hoyland, R B Kitaj and Victor Pasmore. She now passes on her lithographic knowledge through educational projects and mentorship based at
Leicester Print Workshop,
where she has helped to establish facilities for artists to develop their skills in the now endangered craft of stone lithography - an artisanal practice only supported by a handful of print
workshops in the UK. In partnership with LPW, she developed
Lithography Fellowship (2010-17) and continues to welcome
enquiries for bespoke tuition. Together with lithographer
Nora Hammenberg she is currently teaching the year long
Journey Through Lithography.
